Why Should Salafi?

Question:
Shaykh Muhammad Nashiruddin al-Albani  rahimahullah asked: "Why is it necessary to call themselves Salafi, whether it includes preaching Hizbiyyah, groups, madzhab or groups in Islam?"
Answer:
Indeed the word "as-Salaf" is already prevalent in the terminology of the Arabic language and Islamic law.  As for who becomes our discussion this time is the aspect syari'atnya. In an authentic history, when near death, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said to Hadrat Fatimah radi' anha (which means):
"Fear Allah and be patient, the best of 'as-Salaf' for you is me."
 
In fact, among the scholars often use the term "as-Salaf." One example of the use of "as-Salaf" which they usually wear in the form of poems to crack down on heresy:
"And every good is there in following the Salaf people."
"And every evil there is in the new case which was held-invent the Khalaf."

Pluralism, Ideology That Indisputable

Islam, the religion-as blessed by God, not constantly face numerous challenges. A serious challenge is the challenge in the field of religious thought, both internal and external.

We already understand, fanaticism, blind imitation, heresy, and superstition (kesyirikan) has become an internal challenge to Islam. However, the introduction of pluralism [1] into the discourse of Islamic thought has become one of the external challenges that are very dangerous because they try to undermine the construction of monotheism in Islam.

Tawhid = Mission  of the Prophet

Readers who glorified Allah, Allah Ta'ala sent Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam to remove humans from kesyirikan towards unity as He sent the prophets and apostles before him. Allah ta'ala says,

ولقد بعثنا في كل أمة رسولا أن اعبدوا الله واجتنبوا الطاغوت (36)

"And verily We sent a messenger to every nation (proclaiming):" Worship Allah (alone), and shun all forms of worship of Evil. "(An Nahl: 36).

The enemies of Islam has always tried to associate the spread Islam with sword. Doubtful (confusion) is inherited by people Nashara until today. Suicide Bombings, Is It Jihad?

The Muslims, may Allah protect us from misunderstandings aqidah-actually perform jihad in the correct understanding and implementation including a glorious worship. For God has commanded the Muslims to wage jihad against his enemies. Allah says (which means), "O Prophet, strive against the unbelievers and those hypocrites, and be harsh to them ..." (Surat At-Tauba: 9). Because jihad is worship, then to apply it must also be fulfilled two main requirements: (1) sincere and (2) according to the guidance of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. The question now is the phenomenon of bombings carried out by some Muslim youths in immoral places visited by foreign tourists that in fact those who disbelieve. Is it true that the actions of suicide bombings in places like that included in the category of jihad and the people who die because of the action-either during or because of the D-day officials caught and sentenced to death-may be called the people who die a martyr?

One of Understanding with the term Salafi

Dr Sheikh. Muhammad ibn Khalifah at-Tamimi hafizhahullah-he is a professor of Aqidah at Madinah Islamic University, explains in his book 'Mu'taqad Ahlis Tawheed Sunnah wal Jama fi Asma' wa Shifat '[pages 53-54] that the scholars have the view a variety of meanings the term salafush Salih. Among those who argue that there is a salafush deeds are the friends radhiyallahu'anhum only. Some argue that what is meant salafush Salih is a friend and tabi'in. And still others say that salafush deeds include friends, tabi'in and tabi'ut tabi'in.
