Many people must have been familiar with Valentine's Day. The day is celebrated as a manifestation of one's love. Embodiment is not just for a young couple in love. However, the day has a wider meaning. Among affection between each other, couples, parents-children, siblings and others. So valentine's day is called also the day of love.
Ancestor Valentine's Day
Actually there are many versions of the spread with respect to the origin of Valentine's Day. However, in general, most people know about the historical events that began when the ancient Romans to commemorate a great day of every February 15 called Lupercalia. The celebration of Lupercalia was a series of purification rituals in the ancient Roman period (13 to 18 February). The first two days, dedicated to the goddess of love (queen of feverish love) Juno Februata. On this day, the youth raffle girl names in the box. Then every young man take a name at random and outgoing girl whose name must be a partner for a year for fun and made an object of entertainment. From the above explanation can be deduced:
Valentine's Day comes from the Ancient Roman religious ceremony filled with paganism and kesyirikan.
Ancient Roman ceremony on eventually transformed into days of celebration of the church by the name of Saint Valentine's Day at the initiative of Pope Gelasius I. So Valentine's event became a ritual that transformed Christianity and the warning to be on 14 February, coinciding with the death of St. Valentine.
Valentine's Day is also a day of homage to the character Christian, regarded as a fighter and defender of love.
In its development in modern times, the celebration of Valentine's camouflaged with decorated name "day of love".
It is ironic indeed the condition of Muslims today. Some people may already know the historical facts above. As if they close their eyes and said is fine to celebrate Valentine's Day that the embryo is actually a ritual of paganism. It is fitting the Muslims think, they should not celebrate this day after clearly evident that the ritual is a ritual valentine non-Muslims even started the ritual of paganism.

First Damage: Celebrating Valentine Means-duplicate kaafir
Religion Islam has forbidden us imitate infidels (read: tasyabbuh). This prohibition was contained in various paragraphs, can also be found in a few words of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam and this is also the consensus of the scholars (read: ijma'). Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam ordered that we difference Jews and Christians. He sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
إن اليهود والنصارى لا يصبغون, فخالفوهم

In another hadith, the Prophet explains in general that we should not imitate the infidel. He sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
من تشبه بقوم فهو منهم
"Whoever imitates a people, he included a part of them." (Narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawud. Shaykh al-Islam in Iqtidho '[p.. 1 / 269] said that this hadith chains jayid / good. Shaykh Al-Albani said that this hadith This shohih sebagaiman in Irwa'ul Gholil no. 1269). It has been clear in advance that Valentine's Day is a celebration of paganism, and Christianity and adopted into the ritual. Celebration means have their mime.
Second Damage: Attend Celebration kaafir Feature Not Faithful
God Almighty himself has characterized the nature of the believers. They are people who do not attend rituals or celebrations of the polytheists, and this means that Muslims should not celebrate other religious celebrations such a valentine. Hopefully the following paragraph could be a muse for all of us.
Allah Ta'ala says:
والذين لا يشهدون الزور وإذا مروا باللغو مروا كراما
"And those who do not watch zur deeds, and when they meet with (the people) who do deeds that are not useful, they go through (only) with a guard of honor himself." (Surat al-Furqan [25]: 72)
Ibn Zaadul Jauziy in Egypt say that there are 8 opinions about the meaning of the phrase "do not watch zur act", an opinion that there is not contradictory because these opinions only to deliver a variety of acts zur. Among the opinions that have said that "no witness zur deeds" are not attending the celebration of the polytheists. This was said by Ar Robin 'bin Anas.
So, the paragraph above is praise for those who do not attend the celebration of the polytheists. If you do not attend these celebrations is an admirable thing, then this means doing the celebrations is a very despicable act, and including 'disgrace (See Iqtidho', 1 / 483). So, celebrate Valentine's Day is not a feature of the faithful because obviously these days is not a Muslim holiday.
Third Damage: glorify the warrior Love Will Gather With him on the Day of Judgement Later
If a person loves Allah and His Messenger, then he will get the following virtues.
From Anas ibn Malik, he said that someone asked the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam,
متى الساعة يا رسول الله
"When the Day of Resurrection, O Messenger of Allah?"
He sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:
ما أعددت لها
"What have you prepared to deal with it?"
The man replied,
ما أعددت لها من كثير صلاة ولا صوم ولا صدقة, ولكنى أحب الله ورسوله
"I'm not prepared to face the day with a lot of prayer, fasting and many many alms. But what I prepare is the love of God and His Prophet. "
He sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:
أنت مع من أحببت
"(Then) you will be with the person whom you love." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
Shohih In another narration in Bukhari, Anas said,
فما فرحنا بشىء فرحنا بقول النبى - صلى الله عليه وسلم - «أنت مع من أحببت». قال أنس فأنا أحب النبى - صلى الله عليه وسلم - وأبا بكر وعمر, وأرجو أن أكون معهم بحبى إياهم, وإن لم أعمل بمثل أعمالهم
"We do not ever feel happy as we feel happy when I heard the words of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam: Anta ma'a ahbabta man (You will be with the person you love)."
Anas also said:
فأنا أحب النبى - صلى الله عليه وسلم - وأبا بكر وعمر, وأرجو أن أكون معهم بحبى إياهم, وإن لم أعمل بمثل أعمالهم
"Then I love the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, Abu Bakr and' Umar. I hope to be with them because of my love for them, although I can not do good as their deeds. "
Compare, what if a loved and exalted was a prominent Christian, regarded as a defender and love in the current warrior king forbade marrying young. Valentine was a hero and fighter at the time. Look at the words of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam above: "Then you together with people who you love." If you are a Muslim, which one you choose, gathered together the people pious Christians or with the figures obviously disbelieved?

Fourth Damage : Congratulations Lead mired in shirk and Immoral
"Valentine" is actually derived from the Latin word meaning: "the Almighty, the Most Powerful and Almighty." This word is addressed to the Nimrod and Lupercus, a Roman god. (From various sources)
Therefore, consciously or not, if we ask people to be "To be my valentine (Be my valentine)", means the same as we ask people to be "the Almighty". Clearly this action is a big shirk, likened the creature with his Maker, turn the culture of worshiping idols.
We have also put forward at the beginning that Valentine's Day is a celebration obviously Christians, even the original is the ritual of paganism. Therefore, to say good day of love or congratulations on the feast of other unbelievers is something that is forbidden according to the consensus of the scholars (read: Scholarly consensus of the Muslims), as it is stated by Ibn al Qoyyim rahimahullah in his book Ahkamu Ahlidz dhimma (1 / 441, Ash Syamilah). He may Allaah have mercy saying, "The syi'ar congratulated on syi'ar kufr-special for those who disbelieve (like congratulate merry Christmas or Valentine, pen) is something that is forbidden according to scholarly consensus' (agreement) of the Muslims. Examples are congratulated on their feasts and fasts like saying, 'I hope today is the day that bless you', or with congratulations on their big day and such. If it's people who say it can survive infidelity, but he will not get away from things that are forbidden. Congratulatory feast like this to them just the same as we congratulate the prostration that they did on the cross, even act like this greater sin in Allah. Such greeting is more hated by Allah than the person gave congratulations to the people who drink alcohol, kill people, commit adultery, or congratulations on another immoral. "
Fifth Damage: Being Day Valentines Day spirit adultery
Valentine's Day celebration today is experiencing a shift. If in Roman times, is closely related to the world of gods and mythology astray, then in the Christian symbol used as part of the celebration of religious days, then today is synonymous with the free association of young people. Though close to adultery only unlawful, let alone do it. Allah Ta'ala says:
ولا تقربوا الزنا إنه كان فاحشة وساء سبيلا
"Come not nigh to fornication; true that adultery is an act of evil. And a bad way. "(Qur'an Isro '[17]: 32)
In Jalalain said that the prohibition in this verse louder than words 'Do not do it'. This means that if we approach it should not be adultery, let alone to do adultery, is clearly more restricted.
Sixth Damage : Imitating Actions Satan
By Valentine's Day was a wide range of chocolates, flowers, gifts, gift and souvenir sellers. How much money is wasted when it is. When in fact the property could still be spent on other more useful purposes, or even could wherewithal to people in need for fruitful reward. However, the passions of other wills. Act to follow Satan rather than anything else. That waste is done when it might be billions and billions of dollars spent when it is by the entire population of Indonesia, just to celebrate Valentine's Day. Do not they pay attention to the word of God,
ولا تبذر تبذيرا إن المبذرين كانوا إخوان الشياطين
"And do not squander (your wealth) is wasteful. Lo-spender spender was the devil are brothers. "(Qur'an Isro '[17]: 26-27). The point is that they resemble the devil in this case. Actually, love and affection that respectable glorified in these days is something that will damage the fictitious character and religious norms. Keep in mind also that Valentine's Day is not only denied by Islamic leaders but also by other faiths. As the news we get from the internet that day Valentine also denied India's majority Hindus. The reason, because Valentine's Day can be destructive to the values and norms of social life. We said: "Only the person who closed his heart and deify passions are reluctant to accept the truth."
Therefore, we remind the Muslims for not joining in celebrating Valentine's Day, should not congratulate Valentine's Day, also may not help to enliven the event with the sale and purchase, send a card, print, and sponsoring the event because it includes helping the sin and wickedness. Remember, every person should be afraid of the wrath of God Almighty. Hopefully this paper can be spread on other Muslims who do not know. May Allah give taufiq and guidance to us all.
