Shaykh Muhammad Nashiruddin al-Albani rahimahullah asked: "Why is it necessary to call themselves Salafi, whether it includes preaching Hizbiyyah, groups, madzhab or groups in Islam?"
Indeed the word "as-Salaf" is already prevalent in the terminology of the Arabic language and Islamic law. As for who becomes our discussion this time is the aspect syari'atnya. In an authentic history, when near death, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said to Hadrat Fatimah radi' anha (which means):
"Fear Allah and be patient, the best of 'as-Salaf' for you is me."
In fact, among the scholars often use the term "as-Salaf." One example of the use of "as-Salaf" which they usually wear in the form of poems to crack down on heresy:
"And every good is there in following the Salaf people."
"And every evil there is in the new case which was held-invent the Khalaf."
But there are some people who claim to knowledge, deny nisbat (self reliance) on the term Salaf because they thought that it was not there originally. They said: "A Muslim should not say: 'I am a Salafi.'" Indirectly they assume that a Muslim should not follow Salafush-Salih both in terms of doctrinal camps, worship, or morals.
No doubt that their denial of this, (if it means) has consequences for the innocent of the true Islam that held the Salafush-Salih who led the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, as the words of the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam (which means):
"The best generation is my generation, then afterwards, then afterward." (Saheeh Bukhari, Muslim)
Then it should not be an innocent Muslim (bara ') from reliance on Salafush-Salih. Meanwhile, if a Muslim away from anything other than reliance Salafush-Salih, an expert may not be any science to nisbat them as apostates or wickedness.
People who deny this term, would not he also relies on the madzhab, either in theology or jurisprudence. Could be he a Ash'ari, Maturidi, Expert Hadith, Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki or Hambali is still included in the mere designation Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama.
And the people who rely on schools of Ash'ari and followers of the four schools are relying on individuals who are not infallible. Although there are scholars among them was right. Why nisbat-pe-an-pe-an-nisbat to persons who are not infallible is not denied?
As for those who had to Salafush intisab-Salih, he leaned back to ishmah (the infallible /free of error) in general. Apostle sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam has been describing the signs firqah Najiyah a commitment to holding the Sunnah of the Prophet and his Companions. Thus anyone who holds the manhaj salafus-Salih then rest assured he was (in) on the instructions of Allah 'Azza wa Jalla.
Salafiya a predicate that will glorify and easy way to "firqah Najiyah." And it will not be available for people who had the nisbat to any nisbat otherwise. For nisbat to other than Salafiyah not be separated from the two cases:
Me-nisbat himself to the person who is not infallible.
Me-nisbat himself to people who follow personal manhaj not infallible.
So do not awake from mistakes, and it differs with ishmah the Companions of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, that which the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam ordered that we should hold fast to the Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Sahaba thereafter.
We will still continue and constantly calling for our understanding of the Scripture and as-Sunnah manhaj aligned with the Companions, so it stays in the shade ishmah (awake from mistakes) and not to deviate or deviated with a certain understanding that without the foundation of the Scripture and as -Sunna.
Why the back of the Scripture and as-Sunnah is not enough?
Why go back to two things, namely to do with arguments and phenomena syar'i Jama'ah Islamiyah exists.
With regard to the first cause:
We find in the texts that form the command to adhere anything else besides the Scripture and as-Sunnah, as in the word of Allah 'Azza wa Jalla (which means):
"And obey Allah, obey the Messenger and Ulil-Amri of you." (Surah an-Nisa ': 59]
If there's been inducted Waliyul-Amri that the Muslims will be obliged to obey such obligation to obey the Scriptures and as-Sunnah. Although sometimes there are errors of himself and his subordinates. Still obliged to obey him to ward off evil consequences of the differences of opinion by upholding the terms already known, namely:
"There is no obedience to the creature in the bemaksiat to al-Creator." (See al-Saheehah number 179)
"And those who oppose the Apostle after the obvious truth to him, and follow the path that is not the way the believers, We give them power against the heresy that has mastered it, and we put him into Jahannam Jahannam and an evil destination it back." (Surah an-Nisa ': 115)
Allah Most High and away from playful. Admittedly, the mention of 's abilil-believers "(the path of the believers) must contain the wisdom and great benefits. The verse proves the important obligation is to ittiba 'us against the Scripture and as-Sunnah shall be in accordance with the understanding of Islam's first generation (generation of Shahabat). This is called for and emphasized by the Salafi da'wah da'wah in the nucleus and its tarbiyah manhaj.
Indeed Salafiya da'wah will actually unify the people. While other propaganda will only tear him apart. Allaah says (which means):
"And ye together the right people." (Surat at-Tauba : 119)
Anyone who separates between the Scripture and as-Sunnah with the as-Salafush-Salih was not a true for ever.
The second reason related to:
That groups and factions (the Muslims) is now absolutely no attention to follow the path of the Faithful that has been mentioned above verse and confirmed by several hadith.
Among the hadith about firqah numbering seventy-three groups, of all go to hell except one. Apostle sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, described it as:
"He (the class) is above the footing and his friends today."
This hadith is quoted in tune with the verse about the path of the Faithful. Among the hadith is also similar meaning is, hadith Irbadl bin Sariyah, which in it contains:
"Thy Sunnahku and Sunnah Khulafa'ir-Rashideen after me."
So there are two Sunnah to be followed: Sunnah and the Sunnah Khulafa'ur-Rashideen.
Become imperative for us muta'akhirin-generation - to refer to the Scripture and as-Sunnah and the way of the Faithful. We should not say, "We are independent in understanding the Book and Sunnah without guidance as-Salaf as-Salih."
Likewise, we should have a name that distinguishes between the Truth and falsehood in this era. Not enough if we just say: "I am a Muslim (only) or bermadzhab Islam." For all the good firqah also admitted as Shiites, Ibadhiyyah (one firqah in Khawarij), Ahmadiyya and others. What distinguishes us with them?
If we say: "I am a Muslim who was holding the Scripture and as-Sunnah," is also inadequate. Because misguided firqahs also claim ittiba 'to both.
No doubt, the name of a clear, bright and differentiate from the splinter group is the phrase: "I am a Muslim that is consistent with the Scripture and as-Sunnah and the Salaf bermanhaj," or abbreviated; "I am Salafi."
We must be sure, rely on the Scriptures and as-Sunnah, without manhaj Salaf who serves as an explanatory method in the problem of understanding, thinking, science, charity, mission, and jihad, is not enough.
We understand the Sahaba were not ta'ashub against schools or individuals. None of them is touted as Bakri, Umari, 'Ottoman' or 'Alawi (followers of Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali). Even if one of them can ask Abu Bakr, Umar or Abu Huraira then ask it. Because they believe that there should be purifying ittiba 'except the one person that the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam, who will not say with passion, her words revealed no other revelation.
Lets say for example we received rebuttal to the critics, that is, we just call yourself a Muslim without reliance on manhaj Salaf; when manhaj nisbat Salaf is a noble and true. So if they (critics) will be free from naming themselves with class names or the names of the schools of their congregations? Though this title is not syar'i and wrong!?
Allah is the giver of Supreme Essence directions towards the road (a) straight. Wallahu al-Musta'in.
So our answer. The term Salaf not show bigotry or ta'ashub on a particular group, but showed its commitment to follow-Salih Salafush manhaj in understanding the Qur'an and as-Sunnah.
